When:

March 31, 2012, 9:00 AM – Noon

Location:

Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve

Meet in main parking lot on the north side of 83rd Street, just west of Book Road.

Project Details:

This workday consists of restoration at the preserve.   An orientation and safety talk will be included.  Volunteers need to arrive promptly at 9:00 a.m., otherwise they risk not being guided to the location by the steward.  Work will consist of brush cutting and possible seed planting.

Proper Dress:

Workday volunteers should wear appropriate clothing for the weather.  All participants should wear sturdy shoes/boots, long pants, long sleeves, and bring your own work gloves if possible.  Dress in layers because as the day warms, so will you.   Long pants are a good idea to protect you when you work near poison/oak ivy or to prevent injuries to your legs.  Excessively baggy clothes are also a risk for snags, burrs, tripping and other accidents.  Please note, heavy rain and/or lightening will cancel this workday, but a light drizzle will not be a problem.

You may wish to bring a bottle of water.
