A special centenary event, commemorating the several talks ‛Abdu'l-Bahá gave to various Theosophical Society meetings, Thursday, 7pm, September 20th
Event date:
Thu, Sep 20

The program for this centenary commemoration of the amity and concord between Bahá’ís and Theosophists, entitled "Celebrating Unity Within Diversity: The Link Between the Bahá’í Faith and Theosophy," will feature a talk by S. Valerie Dana, Deputy Secretary of the National Spiritual Assembly of the United States, who will be introduced by the President of the Theosophical Society, Mr. Tim Boyd.

Tonight I am very happy in the realization that our aims and purposes are the same, our desires and longings are one…we are united in will and purpose… the certainty of unity and concord between Bahá’ís and Theosophists is most hopeful. Their purposes are one, their desires one, and spiritual susceptibilities are common to both.

--‛Abdu’l-Bahá, addressing a meeting of Theosophists in New York City, 30 May 1912 (The Promulgation of Universal Peace, page 156)

There is a modest admission fee of $10 for guests, $5 for members, to attend lectures at the Theosophical Society. We encourage the Baha'is in Chicagoland to attend, support this important occasion, and help renew the Bahá’í community's historic acquaintance with our Theosophical neighbors.

General Directions: The Theosophical Society is on the southwest corner of Main Street and Geneva Road, with entry from both Main Street and Geneva Road. This is about 2 miles west of I-355, between the North Avenue and Roosevelt Road exits.
